FAQs

What are the conference dates?
May 2-4, 2022, with several pre-conference sessions occurring on May 1. The full schedule can be found here.

Where is the conference being held?
The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada.

What is the registration deadline?
Due to an overwhelming response, we have exceeded our capacity limits at the Cosmopolitan and have closed conference registration early. Please add your information to our waitlist if you would still like to attend. We will contact you individually if a spot opens up that allows you to register. Thank you for understanding.

Will I receive a confirmation of my registration?
Yes, you will receive a confirmation email after you successfully register, which includes your Confirmation Number (this number can be used later to make any modifications to your record). The email will be coming from manastas@bdo.com and titled “Registration Confirmed - 2022 BDO Alliance USA Conference.” If you did not receive the email, check your clutter, spam and/or quarantine folders. If still not found, please ensure your IT department has whitelisted the following three Cvent IP addresses: 198.207.147.224/27 and 204.239.0.224/27 and 216.230.14.224/27. You can also email Kathy McKay Breen at kmckaybreen@bdo.com to request your Confirmation Number.

Will there be an option to attend virtually?
The 2022 Alliance Conference will be an in-person event. We will not be offering a live stream or recordings of any sessions. We are considering hosting a virtual event later in the year with some similar (and new) content too, which would be open to all Alliance firm staff.

What are the COVID-19 protocols?
Vaccination will not be required to attend our conference. International guests, however, are advised to review the most current entry requirements to the U.S. prior to traveling, which may require vaccination or proof of a negative test. Effective February 10, 2022, the State of Nevada lifted its mask mandate in resorts, casinos, restaurants and meeting spaces; all guests of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas are no longer required to wear masks. BDO will continue to review state and local ordinances in the coming months and update accordingly.

Who should attend?
BDO Alliance USA member professionals, BDO USA, LLP and global BDO Member Firm invitees, and other invited guests only. Whether your career focus is on audit, tax, advisory, human resources, firm administration or marketing, everyone can benefit from the educational and national networking opportunities offered at this conference. We welcome all our member firm professionals and other invited guests to experience this valuable training experience provided by the BDO Alliance USA.

How much does it cost to attend?
The Alliance Conference is offered at no charge (except for personal travel and lodging) to all BDO Alliance USA Members, BDO USA, LLP invitees and other invited guests. There is a $500 fee for global BDO Member Firm guests.

Will CPE be offered?
Up to 10 CPE credits will be available for the main portion of the conference; additional CPE credits may be available for participation in pre-conference events. CPE credit will be granted to individuals who attend a session for a minimum of 50 minutes and check-in via the mobile conference app. Note that CPE credit will not be granted for overlapping or simultaneous sessions. CPE certificates will be emailed directly to attendees approximately two weeks after the conference ends.

What is the room rate, and how do I book hotel rooms for this event?
The conference room rate at the Cosmopolitan is $229/night + taxes. We are currently sold out of rooms, however. For those attendees that registered prior to March 21st, your lodging accommodations have been confirmed at either the Cosmopolitan or Aria under the BDO block. For any individual on the waitlist, or confirmed after March 21st, you will need to make hotel reservations on your own at any of the local Las Vegas hotels. We regretfully no longer have hotel rooms to accommodate you.

For attendees confirmed prior to March 21st: We negotiate contracts for our meetings several years in advance and commit to a certain number of rooms with the hotel at that time. If conference attendees elect to stay at a property other than the Cosmopolitan, BDO is liable for those unused rooms. To be able to continue offering the Alliance Conference on a no-charge basis, we will be imposing a fee of $458 (the equivalent of two nights’ lodging) to any individual that chooses not to stay at the Cosmopolitan. This fee will not apply to those participants living in the Greater Las Vegas area.

Questions about lodging and hotel rooms should be directed to Kathy McKay Breen at kmckaybreen@bdo.com.

How can I be a conference sponsor?
Current Alliance members can review our conference prospectus on the Alliance Portal, which details sponsor level commitments and ‘a la carte’ packages. Availability is limited and commitments will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Questions can be directed to Rob Merl at rmerl@bdo.com.

How can I be an exhibitor at the tradeshow?
All BRN firms interested in participating in the tradeshow can do so at no cost, but booth reservations are required. While sponsors receive prime location (and in some cases more space), every BRN firm that wants to participate can begin the process of reserving a table here.

Is there a conference mobile app?
Yes. Stay tuned for how to download the conference app in April 2022.

Can I post information about the conference on social media?
Yes, we welcome all posts and shares on social media! Our conference hashtags are #AllianceTogether and #BDOLV22. Keep in mind this event is not a public event though; it is only open to the BDO Alliance USA community. So, posts about your participation in the event are appropriate and welcome, but encouraging public attendance is not.

Who should I contact with questions?
General questions about the conference can be directed to alliancehelpdesk@bdo.com. Lodging-specific questions can be directed to Kathy McKay Breen at kmckaybreen@bdo.com. Sponsorship and Tradeshow questions can be directed to Rob Merl at rmerl@bdo.com.
